Sue has been working in fused glass for well over 10 years and is just as in awe of its possibilities as when she started. The variations of colour, texture and shape give limitless opportunities to express the joy of creating in glass. The light gives life to the colours.
Sue works from a home studio in which each piece is handmade and then fired at least once in a kiln. Some pieces have been fired several times before the final outcome is achieved. The glass itself often takes control of the outcome, especially combined with head and gravity. The whole process to create a piece may take weeks as each firing lasts about 24 hours. Each resulting piece has a unique final form.
